What Makes My little WedDing Shop so special?

My little Wedding Shop is an independent boutique established in 2011 in the beautiful market town of Bridgnorth, Shropshire. Located on a pretty terrace, just off the famous Castle Walk with it’s stunning views of the Bridgnorth valley, the boutique is an intimate space where you can relax and start to explore the in-house bridal wear collections and meet bridal wear designer, Jennifer Bone.

My little Wedding Shop was founded by Jennifer whose years of experience in the world of theatrical costume brings a twist to traditional bridal design. After graduating with a BA hons degree in Costume Production from Rose Bruford College in London in 2000, Jennifer went on to work in theatre and opera designing and creating costumes.

My little Wedding Shop was launched in 2011 and since then has established quite a reputation for beautiful design, wonderful customer service and a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We are thrilled that brides choose to travel from all over the UK and Europe and even as far as Australia to have their gown created by the My little Wedding Shop team!

Bespoke Bridal Design

Our bespoke bridal gowns are designed to reflect the personality of the bride, each gown is designed in partnership, bringing ideas together, exploring fabrics and drawing on Jennifer’s extensive experience and flair for design.

This process begins with a relaxed consultation where the bride can share the details of the chosen venue, the feel of the wedding that they are planning and any specific details that they would like to incorporate in their dress. Together, we start exploring different materials and colours, selecting from the array of possible laces and embellished materials. These ideas are then sketched out so the bride can start to visualise their dream dress and how their chosen materials will look within the design. Once the design has been finalised, the brides’ dress is then made to measure ensuring the fit and finish is just right. The bride will see their dress develop over time with multiple fittings and the opportunity to evolve the design as their dress comes to life.

This attention to detail & design has been recognised nationally with My little Wedding Shop gowns and veils featuring in Vogue Magazine, Hello! Magazine, Love My Dress, Rock N Roll Bride, Unconventional Wedding Festival, West Midlands Wedding Magazine & elsewhere.

Bespoke bridal design service starts from £1450.00

“The whole process was an absolute pleasure too. It felt a little bit nerve-wracking to have a dress designed from scratch - especially having found nothing remotely similar to what I wanted elsewhere, to try on beforehand - but you really listened to my rough ideas and built on them to create a beautiful design, with lots of fantastic ideas. When I saw you sketching the dress during the consultation, I thought you were making notes, so to suddenly see what I'd just been trying to articulate, there, on the paper in front of me - it blew me away.” - Rachel

your dress fittings

Once you have ordered a dress with My little Wedding Shop, we will take your measurements so we can start to create your dress pattern, this is quite a painless process!

Your fitting dates will be booked in at the point of ordering and are carefully planned to work with you on the run up to your wedding day. Your dress is hand cut and crafted in the bridal studio which is just round the corner from the boutique. Your dress is then brought back over to the boutique for your fittings.

Your first fitting is with the shell of your dress, if you have a dress that includes corsetry, this first fitting allows us to check the fit of the corset and that you feel comfortable in it. This fitting mostly focuses on the shape of the dress and that the different elements sit right on your figure.

The second fitting allows you to really start seeing your dress come together. This fitting ensures any alterations made are accurate and is also when any additional embellishments in the design can be positioned and the hem line can be marked. This is also a great time to make decisions on a veil or any bridal accessories that you would like to complete your bridal look.

Your third fitting allows you to try on your dress mostly finished, the length can be checked with your chosen bridal shoes on and any additional fitting requirements can be made if there has been any weight change. We include a ‘Dressing Lesson’ as your final try-on when the person (s) who will be responsible for dressing you on your wedding day, can come with you to have a practice run at putting on your dress under our guidance.

At every stage, Jennifer encourages brides to use these fittings to let her know that the dress fits well as is comfortable or if they would like any amendments to the design. The fittings are interactive and relaxed, ensuring that brides feel confident in sharing their thoughts and are open to any additional design suggestions that Jennifer may make.

Inspired by the stunning Shropshire Countryside where our dresses are created, our unique designs bring timeless elegance, feminine tailoring & a touch of whimsy to bridal-wear. These are gowns to dance in, laugh in and be swept off your feet in!

Every gown is crafted from the finest fabrics, stunning silks, hand selected laces and perfectly matched beading. Our vintage inspired designs combine feminine silhouettes with dramatic laces, using cut and embellishment to draw the eye and leave the bride feeling perfectly wonderful.

Every gown is hand cut to order by designer Jennifer Bone and her team in their dedicated Bridgnorth studio. Laces are laid out and pattern pieces carefully positioned to ensure the design of the lace is used to its best effect. All materials and embellishments have been carefully selected from British suppliers to ensure the best quality close to home.

The laces and embellishments are hand appliquéd onto each gown, the buttons and loops are created to match each individual gown and then hand sewn on to ensure they are strong and secure.

As these gowns are made to measure, fittings and final alterations are all included in the price of each gown. The Collection gowns start from £1,250.00

Customise your dress

As our collection gowns are all created to order, if you want to add a sleeve, change a neckline or even add a splash of colour, you have the option.

Some brides love one of our in-house designs but would like a little extra sparkle or a different lace design. In this case, we have books of laces and embellishment options to select from to ensure you get a dress that is perfect for you on your wedding day.

Design customisations are costed on an individual basis and are discussed during your appointment.
